Robin of the Wood / MiSTer FPGA / Spectrum

This is Robin on the Wood played on the MiSter FPGA recreating the ZX Spectrum core.

I probably would not have chosen this game directly, but it came from a request to play.

This game was a lot harder than what I expected with a couple of gameplay elements that made it harder.

Not the best title from Odin and they have done better with games such as Nodes of Yesod, but pleased to have this video completed for the channel.

  1. Was going to leave a two word comment but then I had a look at the reviews of this game when it came out and it was very highly regarded. I also read the tape sleeves which explain what the game is about. It was never envisioned that the game would be played either on a recreated or emulated zx spectrum without any notes hence why we both had no clue what was going on.Nowadays reviews are much more discerning and it wouldn't score so highly.Nice to look at but no more so than dozens of games of that era.Its not engaging enough running through loads of screens hoping to find stuff doesn't make for much of a game really. Will probably has one more game in it tonight before never returning to it.

  2. I am not sure I'll be playing this one again ! You are right tho - some games don't translate into this kind of format for making videos - but it's the taking part that counts !
